Did you know that both married and single priests from the early stages of Christianity practiced celibacy? According to a Vatican archaeologist, during the first four centuries, married priests would renounce having intimate relationships with their wives, but they needed their the approval of their spouse.

Cloistered nun tells of life in Alaska monastery

On a recent snowy morning, Blessed Sacrament Monastery in Anchorage looked especially quiet. There were no cars in the parking lot, and only a small sign on the building gave evidence of the Catholic cloister.  But inside the hushed monastery, live a handful of cloistered nuns who are about the work of saving the world.

Kirstin Holum, an American speed skater who took 6th place in the 1998 Nagano Olympics, gave up a sport she was predicted to excel at in order to answer God's call and fulfill His plan for her life. She has no regrets!
