This Palm Sunday, young people in the Archdiocese of Sydney are invited to take up Pope Francis’ invitation to celebrate World Youth Day 2014 at a diocesan level in preparation for the next international World Youth Day (WYD) which will be held in Krakow, Poland in 2016.

The official World Youth Day office in Kraków invites YOU to join them in prayer every day at 3pm around the world. Following the encouragement of Pope Francis, we are called to pray the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy, noting that it helps to spread love, forgiveness, and brotherhood. It does us good: the heart, the soul, our whole life!

WYD2016 in Kraków will take place 26-31 July 2016

26th-31st July 2016 has been announced as the official date of the XXXI World Youth Day, which will take place in Kraków in 2 years. A week earlier, on 20th-25th July 2016, all over Poland, will be "Days in the Dioceses". These dates, proposed earlier by Pope Francis, the Metropolitan Diocese of Kraków, have been considered as the most appropriate dates; the Secretary of State of the Holy See has made their official approval. This means that the opening ceremony of the XXXI World Youth Day will be held in Kraków SIA in 872 days. Today, information is passed on to the public conductive Organising Committee World Youth Day 2016 in Krakow, Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz and Archbishop Damian Muskus.

Pope asks Polish Bishops to Prepare Spiritually for WYD2016

The Bishops of Polands gathered in Rome last week for their Ad Limina visit with Pope Francis. According to Bishop Damian Muskus, the coordinator of preparation for World Youth Day in Krakow, the subject of World Youth Day "came up in nearly every every conversation in the Vatican".
