On Sunday November 24th, The Year of Faith officially came to a close with a Papal morning Mass in St. Peter's Square. The purpose of the Year of Faith, was to deepen the faith of Catholics by first having them fully understand the reasons behind the Church's teachings. Then, by inspiring them to share their faith with others. Historically, perhaps what's most striking about the Year of Faith, is that it was ultimately carried out by two Popes.
Pope Francis delivered the homily at Mass on Sunday 24 November 2013 to mark the Solemnity of Christ the King and close the Year of Faith.
The Year of Faith came to a close with a Papal Mass in St. Peter's Square. Thousands came out to the Vatican to celebrate, as the Pope highlighted that Christians should always have Christ at the center of their lives: “This way our thoughts will be Christian thoughts, thoughts of Christ. Our works will be Christian works based on Christ.”
