Happy Divine Mercy Sunday! Every year the Xt3 Lent calendar concludes on Divine Mercy Sunday, one week after the celebration of Easter, and this year today's feast day is particularly special, as we are celebrating a Jubilee Year of Mercy. As we reflect on this Year of Mercy in preparation for this upcoming World Youth Day 2016 in Krakow, today's feature is a video blog guiding each one of you as online pilgrims to the Divine Mercy Sanctuary in Poland.

Mother Teresa - 2016’s Saint of Mercy

It’s official: Blessed Mother Teresa will be canonised in 2016! On 17 December 2015, Pope Francis approved the second miracle attributed to her intercession. The exact canonisation date will be formally announced at the next consistory of cardinals, however we do know that Mother Teresa’s canonisation will fall during the Jubilee of Mercy.

Everyone’s recovering from something; everyone needs healing in some way. Whether it’s sin or self-contempt or addiction or a time when someone else hurt us, we all have some part of us that’s desperately in need of God’s grace. But sometimes it feels like God doesn’t want to give it. Our past and our mistakes still haunt us. We still go over the situation in our heads, kicking ourselves for not doing something differently, wondering why we didn’t. Maybe the problem is that we’re asking for the wrong thing.

The 8th of December 2015 marked the beginning of the Holy Year of Mercy, an Extraordinary Jubilee Year called for by Pope Francis. The Catholic tradition of practicing a Holy Year (Jubilee Year) began with Pope Boniface VIII in 1300, and since 1475 an Ordinary Jubilee has been celebrated every 25 years in order to allow each generation to experience at least one during their lifetime.
