A new group called "Southern Cross New Media" - which aims to brainstorm and discuss ways to promote the Christian message through new media - held a 'Google Hangout' over the weekend with social media experts from around the world. Vatican's Publishing House Signs Agreement with Apple

The Vatican's Publishing House is taking a step forward in the tech world. Most recently it signed an agreement with Apple, allowing it to post the Pope's books in electronic format. One of the Pope's books titled “Man in Prayer,” is already available in Italian and can be accessed through one's iPhone, iPad or iPod.

Website Begins Countdown until Year of Faith Kicks Off

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the opening of Vatican II, Benedict XVI will proclaim the year of Faith on October 11. It's meant to be a time for Catholics to study and better understand faith. This clock shows the countdown until the beginning of thematic year. It's located on the website that was created by the Pontifical Council for the New Evangelization. It's meant to provide a meeting point for all those taking part.

The Vatican is looking to organize some of the Church's activities on the internet by buying the web domain “.catholic”. It will serve as a place for different parishes, dioceses and religious orders to be easily recognized as Catholic institutions on the web.
