Location of Animated Film inspired by the Way of St. James

This is the first European feature film to be recorded in the animated technique known as Stop-Motion as well as in 3D. The Spanish film “O Apóstolo” tells the story of a man who escapes from prison and hunts for hidden treasure in a village on the pilgrimage route of The Way of St. James. However, on his journey he encounters spirits and strange disappearances.

Vatican to Host 3rd International Catholic Film Festival in July

The Vatican will be hosting the 3rd International Catholic Film Festival from July 2nd to the 5th. The event is called “Mirabile Dictu,” which in Latin means “Wonderful to Relate”. Nominations for best movie include the French film “Churchmen,” from the United States “War of the Vandee”, and the Spanish film “A Song”.

Vatican Hires American Journalist as Communications Adviser

The Vatican has hired an American journalist as its new media adviser. His name is Greg Burke. A 52 year old who, up until a few days ago worked as a FOX news network correspondent. Before that he worked as a reporter for TIME Magazine. He has been based in Rome for over a decade covering everything from politics in Europe, to the Middle East and the Vatican.

"For Greater Glory": A Movie Review by Fr. Barron

The recently released film "For Greater Glory" deals with the period in Mexican history in the 1920s, when the oppressive government enforced laws against the Catholic faith. Religious ceremonies were banned, Bishops were exiled, Priests and Nuns were forbidden to wear religious garmets. Those who disobeyed were arrested, and at times brutally executed. In this video, Fr. Robert Barron reviews the themes of the film, and reflects on the incredible bravery of the Christians and martyrs who died defending their faith in Mexico.

Kerygma Awards - Winning Video on "Forgiveness"

A short film titled 'Cero Años Otra Vez,' which translates to 'Zero Years, Again' has won first place in the international Kerygma Awards festival. The competition looks into short films and videos that transmit a positive message. This year, the theme of the festival was on forgiveness.
