Gen Z Calls for Rethink on Abortion and Society's Assumptions

Generation Z refer to the generation born after 1990. These young men and women are intelligent, direct and determined to make up their own minds and on two Sydney campuses they are not only calling for a re-examination of the moral and ethical questions surrounding abortion, but challenging many long held assumptions.

"Our generation grew up with abortion. From the time we were born, abortion was legal. Society has taken abortion for granted for more than 40 years. Trying to debate the issue is seen as an attack on women's rights. But women my age believe this is a very important topic that needs to be explored from all sides," explains Rebecca Elias, President of LifeChoice Sydney, a newly-formed University of Sydney society.
