Lent: Divine Mercy Sunday: A Pilgrim's Guide to Divine Mercy Shrine for WYD2016

Last edited 11th January 2016

Happy Divine Mercy Sunday! Every year the Xt3 Lent calendar concludes on Divine Mercy Sunday, one week after the celebration of Easter, and this year today's feast day is particularly special, as we are celebrating a Jubilee Year of Mercy. As we reflect on this Year of Mercy in preparation for this upcoming World Youth Day 2016 in Krakow, today's feature is a video blog guiding each one of you as online pilgrims to the Divine Mercy Sanctuary in Poland.

Located in the District of Lagiewniki, the Divine Mercy Sanctuary is the resting place of Saint Faustina Kowalska. It is here that pilgrims can see the miraculous image of Jesus Christ with rays of red and white coming out of his Sacred heart. This Divine Mercy image was what Sister Faustina saw in her visions and which Jesus asked her to have painted so that it could be venerated by the whole world.

Whether or not you are going to World Youth Day this year, we can all take a moment today to reflect on the devotion to the Divine Mercy, and to entrust our world to God's merciful heart.

Three O' Clock Prayer to the Divine Mercy

You expired, O Jesus,
but the source of life gushed forth for souls
and an ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world.
O Fount of Life,
unfathomable Divine Mercy,
envelop the whole world
and empty Yourself out upon us.
O Blood and Water,
which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus
as a fount of mercy for us,
I trust in You.
