Rio is More Than Football, Carnival Celebrations and Violence

The next international World Youth Day is set to take place in July 2013 in Rio de Janeiro - a city renowned for its love of football, its passion for partying and at times its violence. However, according to Archbishop Orani João Tempesta, Rio has a lot more to offer than these stereotypes! In a recent interview, the Archbishop spoke about the choice of his city and about how it aims to prepare to welcome the world youth gathering. The Archbishop is well aware of the challenges the city faces, ahead of the huge world events it will be hosting over the next five years.
