His message inspired St. John of the Cross, St. Teresa of Avila and St. Ignatius of Loyola. He's also credited with the conversion of St. John of God and St. Francis Borgia. His name is St. John of Ávila, the patron of Spanish priests. He is one of the patrons of World Youth Day in Madrid. In fact, the Pope is planning on declaring him Doctor of the Church during that gathering!
The Vatican has launched a new application. It's called “iGPII” and allows you to follow World Youth Day from your iPhone or iPad. It will be available starting 1 August 2011 in five languages: English, Italian, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

Today, a Holy See Press Office press conference will be held to present the new "iGPII" application for World Youth Day! The application works on iPhones, iPods, iPads and devices which run the iOS operating system. The new application, an initiative of the John Paul II Youth Foundation, is available in five languages and will provide pilgrims with documents relating to the history of WYD, an events programme and timetable, GPS positioning, and information on accommodation, food and drink, etc.
