James Raymond Patterson - a boy's faith and untimely death

Last year the 15-year-old schoolboy was one of many thousands who attended WYD in Sydney. Tragically, James died just one year ago on 12 August, 2008 after suffering a sudden aneurysm of the brain.

The logo for WYD / JMJ 2011 Madrid reproduces the crown of Our Lady of La Almudena, the patroness of Madrid. And also the M of Madrid. The two circles in the "peaks" of the "M" represent the heads of two youngsters united to celebrate the faith.These two youngsters represent all the youth of the world.
