WYD Theme Song in Sign Language

Many language versions and WYD theme song videos have been created, but not one of this sort up till now. We can now see and hear the theme song in one more language... that is, sign language.

The Pastoral Ministry of the Deaf in Wroclaw prepared a recording of the WYD theme song in sign language.

Over 40 hearing, hard of hearing and deaf persons participated in the project. In the music video young people illustrate the words of the hymn with various works of mercy.

One of the people who "signs" the words of the hymn is the Metropolitan of Wroclaw, Archbishop Jozef Kupny. With the help of signs, the Archbishop says the words: "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy". For this purpose he went through a "shortened course" of sign language. Also appearing in the recording were religious sisters practicing in the hospital.

The World Youth Day in Krakow theme song was prepared in sign language by the FONIS Foundation from Wroclaw.
