Confession App Can't Substitute for the Real Sacrament

The new iPhone application allows you to examine your conscience and write down what you want to say in the confessional before you go in, but the Vatican has reminded all Catholics that the iPhone application is for preparation only. You still need to physically go to confession to be absolved.

In this episode of the Catholic Movie Reviews Podcast, produced by Lifeteen, we look at next film in the Narnia Series: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. This film, while not as true to the Christian message as the books by C.S. Lewis, still depicts the character of Aslan as a very clear symbol of Jesus. Although the Narnia films are not as successful as other blockbuster series - it is an exception film to use for Bible Studies, and is a perfect family movie.

Scouring the Patrologia Latina and Patrologia Graeca, there nothing to suggest that Ambrose had ever led teens on ski trips to the nearby Alps. Digging through the Eastern Fathers, there are no junior-high dances, not even a pizza party in either Antioch or Alexandria. In fact, in all the documentary evidence from all the ancient patriarchates of the East and the West, there's not a single bulletin announcement for a single parish youth group.
