The 'hookup' culture refers to this mentality that casual sexual encounters, without any kind of emotional connection or relationship, are fine. This is prevalent amoung young people, especially at university. However don't be fooled! The number of men and women suffering from anxiety and depression as a result of this culture is alarming.
