Pope Francis met with thousands of seminarians and novices who came to Rome for a four day event on the Year of Faith. During his speech, the Pope was very direct. He reminded the group that following God's call isn't a temporary or part time option. This, despite the temptations of the modern world.

On the eve of his priestly ordination by the Archbishop of Sydney, Cardinal George Pell at St Mary's Cathedral this Saturday, Deacon Daniel McCaughan says his over-riding emotion mixed with anticipation and some nervousness is still a sense of deep calm and profound peace. Seminarians and Novices Flock to Rome for Special Event with Pope Francis

Between July 4th and 7th, Rome will be the center of a special event dedicated to seminarians and novices from all over the world. According to the Vatican, the city will welcome more than 6 thousand people from at least 70 countries around the world. Most of these pilgrims will be youths, so the event will in a way be a preview of WYD in Rio. The train of celebrations in the Eternal City has been organized by the Pontifical Council for the New Evangelization.

Certainly. However, the question that remains is whether you are using your gifts and talents to the best of your abilities. We all have a vocation — a calling — to express ourselves for who God has gifted us to be. For some of us, that calling directly relates to the way we make a living. For others, it may not relate directly, but instead relates to how we spend our time in other ways.

Sister Maria Romero, abbess of the Buenafuente del Sistal monastery northeast of Madrid said today that Sister Teresita Barajuen had died overnight. She was 105.
