By coming together in pilgrimage, says Sr. Jacinta, a religious sister of the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal, young people thinking about pursing the priesthood or religious life learn that the vocation they are discerning is "not hard, it's not weird … it is something that is very real, and it is very much a part of our life to choose Jesus, and to follow him."

Certainly. However, the question that remains is whether you are using your gifts and talents to the best of your abilities. We all have a vocation — a calling — to express ourselves for who God has gifted us to be. For some of us, that calling directly relates to the way we make a living. For others, it may not relate directly, but instead relates to how we spend our time in other ways.

The typical member of the priestly ordination class of 2013 is a 32-year-old cradle Catholic who has three or more siblings and prayed the Rosary regularly before entering seminary, according to a survey of 366 of the 497 men slated to be ordained to the priesthood in the United States this year. The survey was conducted by the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate.
