Philipa Caulfield Speaks at the Life Giving Love Event

On Friday, 18 May, Bishop David Walker, the Bishop of Broken Bay Diocese, gathered with up 1,700 Year 12 students from Catholic schools of the Diocese for BYTE, the Broken Bay Year 12 Event.

BYTE provides an opportunity for young people, on the threshold of leaving school to reflect, discuss and pray about issues of concern to them. The focus of BYTE 2012 was sexuality and relationships under the theme of ‘Life Giving Love’ aligning this event with the Diocesan priority of spreading the good news of the Catholic Church’s positive teachings on human sexuality.

Philipa Caulfield, Diocesan Special Projects Officer: Youth, shared her personal story. She emphasised the need for an openness to God’s loving giving love that takes very seriously decisions in relation to contraception and sexual relations.
