When is a Human Being a

On Monday 13 August 2012, ethicist Peter Singer appeared on Australia's live Q&A television program, during which he responded to questions on a variety of topics. During the program, Singer stated that he believes people with severe disabilities have a “lesser right to life”. He bases this conclusion on the claim that while they are human beings, they are not “human persons” in the same sense as you or I, because they are not capable of reasoning.
