A Mirror on Lent - Lenten Promise and Prayer for Self-Worth

A prayer for self-worth and positive thinking during Lent. This is a great resource for youth groups or religion classes. You can print out a copy of the prayer for your group to follow along with here.

Lenten Promise & Prayer for Self-worth

This Lent I give up negative thoughts about myself.
When I look in the mirror I will see the person Jesus sees;
A temple of the Holy Spirit,
A child of God,
A part of the body of Christ,
When I look in the mirror I will not highlight the flaws
I will thank God for life and think of the
gifts and talents he has given me.
As we grow closer to Easter Lord Jesus
I imagine you preparing yourself for the pain of the Cross,
For me
For the sake of your sorrowful passion I will not put myself down
I will bury my negative thoughts of self in the Easter tomb
and those thoughts will be transformed..
Just as you were transformed from death, to life
From negative thoughts to positive thoughts
You loved me so much that you gave your life for me
And I will love and honour you by loving myself and others,

This is my Lenten promise.
