The Life and Lessons of St Thérèse of Lisieux

Last edited 1st October 2015

St. Thérèse of Lisieux is one of the most unlikely heros of the Church - she died at the age of 24 in a little convent in the north west of France. She was known only to her family members and a few nuns when she died. Yet when her writings where discovered after her death, she became not only a Saint, but a Doctor of the Church.

St Thérèse was not afraid to admit her shortcomings - she struggled to pray for many years, and often feared that she would never achieve great things in this world as a cloistered nun. But she never stopped striving to be a Saint! In her short life, and then from Heaven, she changed the world. We celebrate the feast day of St Thérèse on 1st October. What an incredible woman, and an example for all of us!
